I started this journal on June 26th 2005 and at the top and
bottom of every page you can move onto the next page and so
on and so on - just like a story book! It begins with the
birth of my grand-daughter Hope Elizabeth as she was born
on my birthday and I was so 'Thrilled and Delighted' that
I wanted the world to know and share my thoughts with the
family. Later I thought I'd add other dates, when things have
happened that I would normally have added to my written diary.
Of course I could put the latest first but then you would
miss all the things that have happened up to that date. So
it begins here with my birthday in 2005 and
each page carries on from there. Remember they are really
my thoughts only; so read on with care!!
My birthday 26th June 2005 |
Today was a wonderful
day as my Grand-daughter Hope Elizabeth
was born on my birthday and almost at the same time in
the early hours of the morning. She is just so very pretty
and I'm not saying that just because she is my first grand-daughter
but also because she is very pretty, she has a lovely
shaped mouth, a cute little nose and such lovely eyes.
It is difficult to put into words the emotions I felt
when I held her in my arms for the very first time and
in fact every time I get to hold her, she is just so very
precious and loved. Her parents are great with her, James
is a terrific dad and does all he can with her except
feed her and Liz is a natural loving mother and Hope is
thriving. The picture below was taken when Hope was just
a few hours old and I've sent it to all my mail box and
printed it out for the staff room wall at school for everyone
to see and for the office at BITS
Computers so that everyone that walks in will see
it, I'm so very proud to be a Grandma and love holding
her.

We were in London when we had the news about Hope so we
drove back to Hereford to see her straight away. We were
in London for my birthday treat that was a weekend away
to see Mama
Mia at the London theatre on the
Saturday evening, a City Cruise on a 'Showboat'
down the River Thames on the Friday evening, and a VIP
Champagne trip on the London
Eye on Saturday mid-day, with food and wine
in between. We had a great time away and Hope arriving
made it all the more special. The weather was really nice
in London too, so we enjoyed walking around Trafalgar
Square, watching the people rushing around like ants as
we wandered slowly all the way towards the Eye. What an
awesome experience the London Eye is, it is well worth
the money and everyone should go and have a trip, the
views are outstanding and it goes so smoothly that you
don’t even notice it is moving and before you realize
it you are back on the ground. I would like to do it again
as it was so good but the crowds are enormous so book
your ticket online before you go. After going on the London
Eye we walked around the London
Aquarium which was great as there are sharks
in the tanks and all sorts of marine life.
Seeing Mama Mia was great and one of
the best shows I’ve been too and I’ve seen
almost all of them over the years. It wasn’t too
loud and the story line was funny and the cast were great,
obviously it goes without saying it that the music is
great and timeless. I’d like to see it again as
I’ve seen LES MISERABLES 3 times
and every time I’ve seen it I’ve seen something
different in it. Here are the names of the shows I can
remember that left an impression on me; MAMA MIA,
EVITA 3 times, CATS
3 times, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT,
ANNIE, Miss SAIGON 2 times, CHESS,
WE WILL ROCK YOU (Queen Musical), PHANTOM
OF THE OPERA 2 times, The LION KING,
THE BIG O (Roy Orbison), BUDDY
(that was great), THE BEAUTIFUL GAME,
TIME (Cliff Richard), CHITTY CHITTY BANG
BANG, CHICAGO, SUNSET
BOULAVARD, STARLIGHT EXPRESS,
PIRATES OF PENZANCE, BARNHAM and many
others over the years that have closed down quickly like;
KISSES OF A SPIDER WOMAN and others that
I can't remember that haven't left an impression on me
or it is so long ago that I've just forgotten that I saw
them. It is just something we love doing for a treat to
go down to the bright lights and see a show and walk around
our big capital city. I think my favourite is Evita
as I love the music and the story, the way they have incorporated
the dancing with the songs and I just love everything
about the show (I just can't believe how the so called
'Upper Class' of England treated her when she came on
a visit!). The movie is good too and I have Eva Peron's
biography that is well read. Tony's favourite is CATS
as he liked the combination of poetry, music and costumes
and when we saw it Brian Blessed got all the children
onto stage at the interval and they sang 'Happy Birthday'
to our daughter Tonya. Of course she was thrilled and
we have always remembered it. |
Baby Kien joins the family 10th
July 2005 |
Another baby is born,
that makes 3 in as many months. Kira had Johnathan Paul
on Tony's birthday May 20th 2005, Liz had Hope Elizabeth
on my birthday June 26th 2005 and Sam had Kien Benjamin
on July 10th 2005 so one baby a month was born to extend
the family. You can find their names on my family tree
as I think I've updated it both in the FT program and
on the web.
